Meet our July Builder of the Month, Kory Bellmont of Wausau Homes Cold Spring.
Kory Bellmont has built extensive experience in the construction industry since 1997. Kory’s career started as a general laborer in excavating, but soon excelled to foreman, project manager, and finally vice president for his family’s development firm. An expert at the homebuilding process, Kory and the Wausau Homes Cold Spring team specializes in the traditional market and makes every homebuyer’s experience an enjoyable one from start to finish.

Get to know Kory on a more personal level with our Q&A.

How long have you been a Wausau Homes builder?

I have been a Wausau Homes Builder since January of 2015.

How did you get into the Home Building Business?

I have a background in Project Management, residential and commercial construction, including time project managing building projects for missions based companies, such as Youth With A Mission (YWAM). I wanted to use that background in an area that I could have a positive effect on people in the marketplace. Home building with Wausau Homes was a great opportunity to build great relationships with amazing people, and make a difference in my community.

Why did you choose to be a Wausau Homes builder?

When I was researching companies to begin a relationship with, Wausau Homes first stood out to me because of their reputation as a quality company. They also had the best builder platform and best web presence, which made for the best marketing opportunities.

When you’re not building homes what do you like to do?

I have four amazing children. What I most like to do is spend time with them; riding horses, playing sports, camping, anything that builds up my family.

What part of the custom home building process do you find the most rewarding?

The relationships. My customers have become life long friends.

If you were building your dream home what is the one feature you would have to have?

For me, the kitchen is the heartbeat of the home. A well laid out kitchen, followed by a well laid out home, makes any house warm, inviting and functional.

What is one tip you would give to all custom home buyers?

Communicate your dreams and desires. When you have builders and a company who care, it’s easier than you think to achieve something that not only fits the needs of your family, but makes your home special.

Are there any home building trends in your area that stand out?

Our area is great for young families. A lot of our houses fill those needs, making for beautiful homes that help families grow.

What has beeN your most rewarding build to date and why?

There’s truly more than one answer here: We’ve recently built a home for a career retired vet, multiple first time home buyers, and other great customers. Seeing each one end up in the house of their dreams, has made each one and their story extremely rewarding.

What events can interested home buyers find you at in coming months?

We have a set day in Paynesville on July 15th, and another in Cold Spring on July 23rd. We have additional builds coming in August and September and we would love to see old and new customers there! Check out our Facebook page for details.
