How long have you been a Wausau Homes builder?

Just about two years now!

How did you get into the home building business?

Home building was a natural progression of what our company did in roofing, siding, gutters, deck building, and home improvement projects. We wanted to build custom homes for families.

Why did you choose to be a Wausau Homes builder?

Two words: quality and convenience. We were actually contacted by Wausau Homes to build homes in our area and it was something we were already thinking about doing. Our tour of the Wausau Homes production facility is what sealed the deal and made us choose Wausau. The Wausau Homes panelized system allows us to have a home constructed, wrapped and with a roof on it in two days. It is an amazing process and product.

When you're not building homes what do you like to do?

I enjoy spending time with my family. I have four children and two dogs so there is always something to do. Oh, and I love home improvement projects!

What part of the custom home building process do you find the most rewarding?

Set Day! Without a doubt I find set day most rewarding. That is the day it all comes together. Plans and materials come together, begin to take form, and become a home on set day. I love it! It is so exciting to help people achieve their dream home.

If you were building your dream home what is the one feature you would have to have?

A roof! Seriously, beyond all the standard rooms and amenities, I need a mud room. A great mud room reduces mess in the rest of the home and clutter at entryways by providing a place to put on/take off and store shoes, hang coats, and place things like umbrellas, hats, gloves, and dog leashes.

What is one tip you would give to all custom home buyers?

I have two! One, own the land before you can start building. This is so important. Two, think about what your needs will be in the future, not just today.

Are there any home building trends in your area that stand out?

Yes, multi-colored kitchens are popular right now.

What has been your most rewarding build to date and why?

The last one, because the family I just turned over their dream home to will start making a lifetime of memories.

What events can interested home buyers find you at in the coming months?

None. COVID-19 has drastically changed how we do business. The best thing potential customers can do is make an appointment and then come visit us in our design studio with appropriate safety measures in place such as masks and social distancing.

I am building custom homes. It is my passion. I look forward to the future and helping people live in their dream home! You can find us on Facebook. We love to answer questions, and do anything we can to help you achieve your dreams. Contact Wausau Homes Moline today!
