About Our Design Studio
Owner John Weiler has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years. He resides in Rice Lake and is an established custom builder within the surrounding communities. John has built dozens of lake homes in several counties in the area, is an expert at navigating the homebuilding process and is ready to help make every homebuyer’s experience an enjoyable one from start to finish.
Each Wausau Homes Builder is an independent local business, so you can have the confidence and ease of dealing with a local builder. Plus, each Wausau Homes Builder has access to all of the Wausau Homes design tools and Wausau Homes components.

The Wausau Homes Design Studio is located in Chetek, Wisconsin. We serve Chippewa County, portions of Washburn, Barron, Sawyer, and Rusk counties. We build homes in all the surrounding communities including Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, Chetek, Cumberland, Rice Lake and Ladysmith.

Chippewa Falls is located on the Chippewa River in Wisconsin and is the county seat of Chippewa County. The city’s name originated because of its location on the Chippewa River, which is named after the Ojibwa Native Americans. With hundreds of lakes in the area, the outdoor enthusiast is sure to find the perfect fishing and boating spot. For the beer aficionado, tour the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company or get a taste of culture at the Heyde Center for the Arts.
