What products do you offer?

Woodport offers numerous product lines including interior doors both flat and raised panel as well as a wide variety if French doors. We offer finishing in both staining and painting options. Exterior door options as well as louver doors, Dutch doors, Café and Pantry doors are offered in multiple species. We offer Custom Etched glass, and all sorts of unique custom designs. What are the top trends for doors right now?

Trends are pretty unique depending on your geographic location. For Wisconsin, it is primarily stain grade options. Our Woodport poplar and maple three panel traditional, with flat panel and square sticking seems to be quite popular. In the surrounding Midwest, it is best described as a tapestry of different preferences. For example, in Illinois, their primary trend is a primed MDF product, ranging from a one panel flat to a five panel flat equal. In the North East and Mid Atlantic Fir Doors and MDF doors are most popular.

How do you see doors changing in the next couple of years?

The popularity of primed / paint market throughout the states is still going strong. Iowa is a patch work of paint grade mixed with stain grade, where Wisconsin is primarily all stain grade. Contrasting to Wisconsin, Illinois is primarily primed MDF doors. Based on our sales analysis across the country, we are forecasting that the primed / paint market will continue to increase for the next few years. Primarily in the flat panel square sticking options. Let’s not forget what is happening in the world today. We anticipate a very strong push for Made in America. Many distributors currently rely heavily on Imports. This will change.

What is a key tip or hack when it comes to picking out doors?

It comes down to personal preference. Depending on if you are visualizing a concept that flows with your current home or a new construction. From what we are seeing in trends, a more modern or contemporary look is very popular right now. If you are updating your existing home, you may want to keep the original look with something perhaps more traditional. The key is to visualize a product that flows well with other items in your home, such as: trim, floor plan, and paint colors on the wall. We can certainly help the customer with many options.
